Meet the Santa Rosa Wine Country Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers Santa Rosa Wine Country we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  Peter Morero and Linda Watterson opened the Senior Helpers Santa Rosa office because of their passion for helping others and interest in the growing need for in-home care services.  Peter and Linda are committed to delivering the best possible in-home care to seniors in the Santa Rosa Wine Country community.

We take the opportunity to provide in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  Over the years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution.  Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited.  Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of Santa Rosa Wine Country, like every other location, are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

Peter and Linda were drawn to Senior Helpers to support the provision of high-quality care to local seniors, improve their quality of life and contribute to the aged care community.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Dr. Peter Morero

Dr. Peter Morero

Owner

Dr Peter Morero is an Australian trained medical doctor who has worked at many levels in the health industry. He comes to the USA to support his family in their educational endeavors, and with wife Linda, is building a home care business with Senior Helpers. Home care for seniors is a natural fit for his experience and skills.

His main goal is to provide high quality and helpful support to people to improve their quality of life and prevent health problems. Home based senior care is increasingly an essential component of the spectrum of health and social services required in the community.

He started his working life in health administration and research, and spent several years in the military both regular army and reserve. He worked for the Queensland State Government Health Department in planning and project management, and then spent several years undertaking similar work as an independent consultant. This included projects such as aged care, rural hospitals, remote aboriginal community services and cost benefit assessment of health services.

He returned to full time study in 2000 and completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland Medical School. He worked in the public hospital system in Queensland for five years, including two years as the Medical Superintendent at Gatton District Hospital, the local hospital in a small farming town about 100 miles from the capital city of Queensland, Brisbane. His role here was to direct a team of nursing and other staff to provide emergency care, acute inpatient plus step down, aged care and palliative care. He is passionate about care for seniors, having had the experience of his father, an Australian Army Vietnam veteran, suffer from Parkinson's disease for many years.

Over the past 10 years he has worked part time as a family physician at several clinics and as a doctor in remote communities providing services to aboriginal communities in Northern Australia and remote area mining communities. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Member of the Skin Cancer College of Australia and a past Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Administrators.

Dr. Linda Watterson

Dr. Linda Watterson

Owner

Dr. Linda Watterson is a successful business woman and has worked in a variety of industries and served as a contributing executive member of several community groups and non-profit organizations in recent years.

After completing a Bachelor of Engineering, Dr. Watterson started her career as a service supervisor in a Chinese-Korean joint venture during Asian Games in 1990. She then worked as a technical assistant for sales in an Australian mining company and Marketing Communication Specialist for Sun Microsystems’ China operation.

After immigrating to Australia in 1995, Dr. Watterson co-founded an import and export company trading mining equipment from Australia, UK, and USA to clients around the world, particularly in the energy industry in China. She returned to full time study and completed her doctorate degree in Business in 2010. During this time, Dr. Watterson retained her involvement in the mining industry with consulting work for a number of Australian mining exploration companies for their major iron ore, coal mine, and gold mine projects in Noumea, Mongolia and China.

Having two children attending NCAA DI colleges in northern California as student-athletes, Dr. Watterson has spent significant amount of time in Bay Area and seen the first hand the shortage of services to the senior community. By investing in a home care business with her husband, Dr. Peter Morero in northern California, Dr. Watterson will combine her experience and skills as a company and community group executive to support the provision of high-quality care to local seniors to improve their quality of life and contribute to the aged care community.
