At Senior Helpers of Greater Oklahoma City, we believe that getting the best in-home care for your loved ones should be easy and straight—forward. We make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. Each of our care professionals are committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Our owners, Laurie and John Stansbury, know personally how difficult it was to find the right in home senior care company. We’ve been through the process ourselves and are deeply committed to providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. We are proud of the many 5-star client testimonials we have earned in the past 5 + years. Nothing is more important to us and our entire team than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

How We Work with Our Clients

Caregivers are supervised employees, not independent contractors. They are bonded and insured - and their taxes have been paid. You can rest assured that referencing and OSBI criminal background checks, including fingerprinting, have been made.

We never send a stranger. In our experience, one of the most difficult aspects of being the client of a home care agency was having caregivers show up at our door without being properly introduced or prepared. We will always notify you if your regular caregiver is unable to be there and will work diligently to identify a replacement as quickly as possible.

Our certified caregivers (CNAs and CHHAs) are in good standing with the State of Oklahoma. We also require our caregivers to complete a comprehensive training program as well as continual learning courses.

Nurse support is available 24/7. We also make regular check-up visits to our clients and our caregivers to ensure quality of care.

We are honored to be an approved Veterans’ Benefits provider. We also offer a discount to our military veterans and their spouses or surviving spouses.

There is no fixed term contract for care. We accept private pay and can help you maximize any Long-Term Care Insurance benefits.

Our Process

When you’re close to a senior family member it can be difficult to know all their specific needs. In some cases, a senior family member might be reluctant to mention their more personal needs. Our trained and professional consultants create a safe space where your loved one can comfortably discuss their needs.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss your loved one's needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

Meet the Greater Oklahoma City Team

Laurie Stansbury

CEO

Laurie Stansbury is our CEO. She and her husband John lead our Senior Helpers of Greater Oklahoma City office. Laurie managed Human Resources at a regional hospital and long-term care facility and was a management consultant. She has a passion for excellence in delivering quality in-home senior care and for making a positive impact in the lives of those she serves. As Senior Helpers continues to grow, Laurie is grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a dynamic, caring, compassionate and fun-loving team. Our clients and our caregivers are at the heart of our success. She is a member or on the board of various civic and volunteer groups including Rotary 29, the Paseo Arts Association, Harding Academy Foundation, and PEO.

John Stansbury

Administrator and CFO

John Stansbury is our Administrator and CFO. His extensive professional background as an international lawyer and mentor to various charitable organizations has given him the experience and knowledge to run a successful business. Originally from Illinois, he and Laurie have put down strong roots in Oklahoma City. John leads our finance and administrative operations and is responsible for ensuring our compliance, risk management and quality control. He also is an adjunct Professor of Law at Oklahoma City University and is involved in other ventures and civic groups including the Economic Club. He too has a personal mission for excellence in customer service – and plays golf in his not-so-spare time.

Tamara Webb MSN-RN

Director of Client Services

Tamara Webb MSN-RN leads our Client Services and Care Teams as Director of Client Services. She brings extensive nursing experience in Home Health, Hospice, and Community Outreach for the good of our clients and caregivers alike. Prior to joining Senior Helpers, Tamara held various positions including Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Coordinator, Nurse Educator, and RN Case Manager. She inspires her teams to achieve excellence through an unswerving commitment to quality care and quality care giving. Tamara contributes insightful problem-solving, professionalism, and positivity to Senior Helpers each and every day. She is blessed to be the mother of two successful children with a son serving in our military while pursuing a Physical Therapy degree and a daughter completing her Master's in Health Care Administration.

Julie Davis

Scheduling Coordinator

Julie Davis is the newest member of the Senior Helpers’ office team and joined us as Scheduling Coordinator. She brings over 15 years’ experience in various front office customer service roles, including the past three as Customer Care Manager/Scheduler with another home care provider. Julie’s creative problem-solving skills and hands-on caregiver knowledge make her a natural to ensure the right match of caregiver and client. She is adamant that each caregiver is prepared to give their clients the best in-home care. Her emphasis on quality client service and care, her work ethic, and her ability to understand the entire client and caregiver experience are invaluable to the Senior Helpers’ team.

Carol Blevins

Administrative Coordinator

Carol Blevins is our Administrative Coordinator with vast experience in office administration and information systems. She joined Senior Helpers in its infancy in 2016 as a caregiver and is one of our very first team members! We quickly realized that Carol was a natural to help us keep our systems and back office operating smoothly. We rely on her attention to detail and her dedication to Senior Helpers to enable us to provide the best client care solutions and satisfaction. She keeps us organized! Carol’s brand of Care, Commitment and Compassion manifests itself every day as she makes those around her better. She is also a superb cook (and shares her creations with us!) and a proud grandmother.
