Our History

Tom and Carol Trent opened the Senior Helpers Greensburg office in 2007 because they believe seniors in Southwestern, PA deserve choices about how and where they wish to live. Strong advocates for independence, living with dignity and being treated with respect, Tom and Carol and their Team bring a sincere passion and dedication to supporting the changing needs of all clients.

From a small start-up business in 2007, to one of the larger employers in Westmoreland County, Senior Helpers is well positioned to serve the growing need for senior care in our area. People are living healthier and longer and those over age 80 represent the fastest growing age segment of our area. Senior Helpers is an active partner in the community and has been recognized frequently for its outstanding service including being selected as the Westmoreland County Large Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce and receiving multiple Reader’s Choice Gold Awards by the Tribune Review as the best in home care for the region.

Carol Trent

Owner

Carol has a Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with an emphasis in Geriatric Wellness. Prior to beginning Senior Helpers, Carol worked with the senior population in Florida and used her B.S. degree in Marketing from Penn State in various sales and marketing positions. At Senior Helpers, Carol does the sales and marketing, handles the business accounting and helps to oversee the management of client satisfaction and the on-going training of caregivers.

Tom Trent

Owner

Tom has a B.S. degree in Marketing from Juniata College and over 30 years of professional business experience. In his most recent positions prior to starting Senior Helpers, he was a strategic planning consultant for Fortune 500 companies and then served as Senior Director for multiple international brands. Tom personally oversees the hiring of all staff and conducts new hire orientation and training.
