Meet the Lehigh Valley Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting. At Senior Helpers of the Lehigh Valley we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated. Pam Bartlett opened the Senior Helpers Lehigh Valley office in 2013 because of her passion for helping others and her interest in the growing need for in-home care services. Pam and her team are committed to delivering the best possible in-home care to seniors in the Lehigh Valley community.

We take in-home care very seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. Over the past 6 years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of the Lehigh Valley was proud to join the system in 2013. Like every other owner, we too are fully committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

Pam was drawn to Senior Helpers because of the company’s determination to enhance the lives of the senior population, and the innovation and dedication of the company’s corporate team.

We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, review our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Pam Bartlett

Pam Bartlett

Owner/General Manager

Navigating the maze of senior care options for her parents and in-laws inspired Pam to become part of the senior care solution. Following a 30-year career in business and retail marketing, she seized the opportunity to purchase a Senior Helpers franchise. Armed with a strong business and operations background plus a degree in Rehabilitation Services, Pam put her personal passions and professional expertise to work. As owner and general manager of Senior Helpers of the Lehigh Valley, her goal is to do whatever it takes to provide caregiving options that "are in the best interests of our clients."

Quote:

"I truly care about people and their families. Owning this business is one way I can give back and offer the very best senior care in the Lehigh Valley."

Susan Breedy

Susan Breedy

After Hours Scheduling Coordinator

Susan is our weekend after-hours scheduling coordinator. She chose this line of work because she enjoys working with the seniors and making a difference in their everyday life. She has worked in the medical field for 6 years as a CNA and 13 years as a staffing coordinator.

Quote:

"We change the world when
We simply meet the needs of another."

Margaret Wick-Stewart

After Hours Scheduling Coordinator

Margaret retired from nursing after over 40 years, and realized she missed working with seniors.

She began working with Senior Helpers as a Home Health Aid in 2016, and was promoted to a Client Services Coordinator in 2017, visiting our clients in their homes and working with our caregivers and scheduler.

Margaret was such an asset to the office that when she decided to move to Florida, we couldn’t let her leave us completely, and she now works as one of our after-hours scheduling coordinators.  She is on call and responds to incoming calls when the office is closed.

Lisa Applebach

Director of Operations

I have been working with seniors and adults with disabilities for over 10 years. I love how the care we provide allows for clients and family to have peace-of-mind that their loved one is being cared for.

I received my Senior Advisor Certification in 2015 which enables me to broaden the scope of how I can help clients and their families.

I have lived in the Lehigh Valley my whole life, with a brief period in Michigan.

I enjoy the diversity that the Lehigh Valley offers in entertainment, sports, and outdoor activities.

When I am not working, I am usually working around my home, reading, or doing anything crafty.

Stephanie Sywensky

Caregiver Manager

I have been working in home care for almost 4 years. While I started out in a large agency, I have found a home in Senior Helpers as I have been able to develop relationships due to the close-knit atmosphere we have here! I enjoy meeting new families as well as bringing new members onto our team. My top priority is ensuring the satisfaction of our Caregivers and making sure they provide quality care to our clients. I enjoy working for the senior population because I have the utmost respect those hard- working men and women and being able to hear their stories and the amazing things these individuals did in their youth. This is truly a rewarding job! When I am not on the clock, I enjoy photography and being outside!

Rosa Arroyo

Scheduling Coordinator

I have 6 years of experience in staffing for home care. I have been a CNA, Medical Assistant and an Audiology Assistant in the past.

My hobbies include reading, baking with my nieces and spending time with my family (before COVID).

I like working with the senior population because they have a lot to teach. I have learned to be more patient and understanding as well as more attentive to the needs of others. I like to make sure that they are taken care of to the best of my ability.

My mother's caregivers and managers at Senior Helpers are incredibly responsive and flexible and helpful. They took care of getting my mother into and out of the hospital when I was out of town. They assured me that my mother would be cared for during recent snow storms if her power went out, and stayed with her over night during one threatening storm. My mom's caregivers and managers have given me their cell phone numbers! They do whatever it takes. Everyone has been wonderful!
