VA Benefit Assistance

If you’re a senior veteran, Senior Helpers can assist you with finding out how to qualify and apply for the benefits you deserve. You may qualify for either the VA’s Aid & Attendance Benefit program, the Homemaker and Home Health Aide care program, or both. The VA’s Aid & Attendance Benefit pays for in-home senior care for veterans so they can safely and comfortably remain in their homes. This tax-free pension benefit is available to veterans and their spouses to help pay for long-term, non-medical in-home care. Our Houston veteran home care services allow veterans in Houston Heights, Galleria, Memorial, and surrounding communities to live the best quality of life possible in the comfort of their own home.

Veteran Assistance Program

If you’re a veteran who served at least 90 days of active duty, including one day of active duty during war such as the Vietnam War, Korean War, or World War II, you may qualify for the VA Aid & Attendance Benefit. If you’re not sure whether you qualify, or if you need help understanding how to apply, Senior Helpers is here.

Senior Helpers of Central Houston has experience working with veterans from a variety of service backgrounds and experiences. As senior care experts, we work closely with professional assistance organizations to ensure veterans and their spouses receive the benefits they deserve, and we make sure the application process goes as quickly and smoothly as possible. Once your application is submitted, Senior Helpers can begin immediately providing the in-home care and assistance you need.

At Senior Helpers, our Houston Heights, Galleria, Memorial, and Houston veteran home care services can assist your loved one with a variety of tasks, allowing them to remain independent and enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life. Veterans who live alone and need in-home care assistance, or veterans whose current caregivers may be experiencing a burden can greatly benefit from this service. This service can be provided in addition to other VA home and community-based services.

At Senior Helpers, we know that nursing homes aren’t always ideal and that many seniors and veterans prefer the comfort and familiarity of remaining in their own homes. With the help of our friendly and knowledgeable caregivers, veterans of any age are able to safely stay in their homes and maintain the highest quality of life possible. If you’re a full-time caregiver for your loved one, it’s important that you get much-needed breaks from your caregiving responsibilities to take care of your own personal needs. That’s why we also offer our respite services—we’ll step in to care for your loved one while you’re away. Our compassionate caregivers can help out for as long as you need it, whether for a few hours, several times a week, or more.
