Meet the Salt Lake City Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers of Salt Lake City we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  Tom Turner opened the Senior Helpers office in 2008 because of his passion for helping others and his interest in the growing need for in-home care services. Senior Helpers of Salt Lake City is committed to delivering the best possible in-home care to seniors in the Salt Lake community.

We take in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  Over the past 10 years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Senior Helpers is Utah’s premier senior care provider with specially trained caregiver services for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and dementia clients. Serving the Salt Lake Valley Since 2008, Senior Helpers is locally owned and operated by Utah natives, Sydnee and Jeremy Hancock with exceptional care coordination provided by Ashley Confalonieri, BSN, RN. 

Our compassionate senior services make it possible for seniors to maintain as much of their independence as possible.  Our personal care takes into account each family’s need for straightforward and reliable information about aging adult care and the necessity for confidence in the quality of the caregivers working in their homes.  Sometimes referred to as aging in place, our in home care and companionship, has lifted the spirits of the many seniors and their families in our community by allowing individuals to age independently and in their own home.

We have become a trusted and distinguished provider of senior homecare services in Salt Lake City, Holladay, Cottonwood, Mount Olympus, Sandy, West Valley City, Murray, Midvale, West Jordan, and are now expanding to Draper, South Jordan, Herriman, American Fork, Highland, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork, and the surrounding areas of Central Utah.

At Senior Helpers, we strive to provide the best in-home health care, elderly care, hospice care, and companion care so that aging adults can live happy and healthy lives at home while maintaining their independence.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Sydnee Hancock

Sydnee Hancock

Owner

Sydnee has spent her adult life in public health, care services and education. Graduating from Utah Valley University with a BS in Public Health before certifying as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, she has homeschooled her three children while traveling with them throughout the world, managed pre-school programs at the YMCA and provided personal care services for all ages from infants to seniors.

She became keenly aware of the growing demand for senior care in our community after becoming a primary caregiver for her Grandfather. Along with her extended family, she was personally committed to affording him the dignity and independence of remaining in his own home in Spanish Fork, UT as he aged through the stages of dementia. She personally knows the demands of a caregiver and is committed to training and developing the most qualified and educated caregivers to provide the much needed care/respite care for families in our community. 

Jeremy Hancock

Jeremy has long been service oriented and mindful of the aging adult population in our community. An Eagle Scout and a decorated combat veteran himself, he has always had an affinity and admiration for World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans and their families. After 14 years of active military service and an MBA from Washington State University he returned to Utah and began a new career in the investment banking industry as a mid-level associate. However, seeing a growing need for senior care and missing the direct community impact he loved, he resigned from the leading Wall Street firm after 3 years and he and Sydnee set out to build a quality senior care company within the communities where they were raised. 

Ashley Confaloneiri

Care Coordinator, RN, BSN

Ashley has been the leading force behind keeping Senior Helpers a very personal company as it has grown over the years and transferred ownership from Tom Turner, the original owner, to Sydnee and Jeremy. She has an eye for exceptional caregivers and has matched caregivers and clients together well by getting to know each person individually. This is one of her favorite parts of the job, getting to know each of our clients and caregivers on a personal level, and maintaining close relationships with them.

Ashley began working for Senior Helpers in 2008 as one of our first caregivers. In 2009, she became the office manager, and during that time she earned her nursing degree. She graduated with her RN in 2014, and received her BSN in 2018 from Dixie State University. She has fulfilled many roles during her time here. From recruiting caregivers to overseeing the care provided to our clients, there isn’t much she hasn’t been involved in. While in nursing school, she realized that working with elderly was an honor and not just a job, and has loved being able to work with hundreds of our clients and caregivers over the years. She is committed to hiring exceptional caregivers who can provide the quality care that each of our clients deserve.

With exceptional client service and a passion for assisting families and seniors to remain independent at home, Ashley, Jeremy and Sydnee have primary roles in the day-to-day responsibilities of client relations, caregiver selection and screening, and collaborating within the expansive network of senior care professionals they have built in the community as their business has grown.
